At Buckfastleigh Primary School, we provide all children with a variety of opportunities to explore both pitched and unpitched instruments. In Key Stage 2, learning to play a musical instrument is an integral part of the curriculum. Music lessons are designed to align with the national curriculum goals. Throughout our lessons, pupils engage in diverse musical activities, developing their singing abilities, using body percussion, and learning to play classroom instruments with skill. They are encouraged to create and express music individually and collaboratively. Through whole class, small group, and individual activities, children have the chance to experiment with sounds, actively listen, compose, and perform.
