Family Support Advisor
My name is Rhiannon Rosewell, and I am the Family Support Advisor based here at Buckfastleigh Primary School. I have many years of experience in family support ahead of me joining the school from being a project worker for a Young Carers service, a family support worker based in a Paediatric Accident and Emergency Department, as well as also having a degree in Education Studies. I have always valued the importance of school staff in supporting families to ensure children are happy, healthy and able to thrive and, therefore, I am very passionate about my role here at Buckfastleigh Primary School.
As a Family Support Advisor, I am here to support parents, carers and teaching staff to ensure children can be the best they can be, both at home and at school. My aim is to build positive relationships with whole families as well as with individuals, and to be a source of support if/when this is needed. For example, I am available to help with the following concerns:
- Mental health and wellbeing
- Physical health
- Housing
- Finances
- Safeguarding
- Accessing targeted support
- Bereavement
- Domestic Abuse/Violence
- SEND
- Parenting
- School
- Isolation
Although this list shows a wide range of issues that I am available to support, this list is not exhaustive. If you have any questions or concerns about any other areas, please do not hesitate to reach out!
I am based at school on Mondays, Thursdays and every other Wednesday. If you would like to contact me for support or advice, you can reach me via our Family Support Advisor inbox - buc-parentsupportadvisor@buc.westst.org.uk
Alternatively, you can also call through the School Office, message me on Class Dojo, or grab me for a chat at drop off/pick up.
